*Title:The emergence and development of the Adowa and Kete dance in Ghana
The emergence and development of the Adowa and Kete dance in Ghana, West Africa, occur within a cultural and social context rich in significance. This traditional art form holds particular importance as an identity marker at various levels, ranging from the individual to the national scale. The Adowa and Kete dances becomes a distinctive element of tribal identities, reflecting the specificities and values of each ethnic group on the national level, they embodies the very essence of Ghanaian culture, symbolizing the unity and diversity of a nation steeped in history and cultural heritage. Its significance transcends geographical and temporal boundaries, making it dance an essential pillar of the collective identity of the Ashanti and Ghanaian people. Additionally, the competitive nature of Adowa and Kete troupes underscores the economic dimensions of cultural expression.
