4/19【What it takes to be a violin maker: useful advice from a Master】David Gusset

David Gusset

What it takes to be a violin maker: useful advice from a Master

4/19  11:00 a.m. ~ 1:00 p.m.

Presenters: David Gusset

Area of study: Violin maker

David Gusset makes violins entirely by hand, adhering to the ideals and the working methods of the early Italian masters, and embodying the highest standards of craftsmanship. Each instrument made is a unique artistic creation--an original composition of harmony of line, form, color and materials. The tone qualities he seeks are those of deeply satisfying warmth, richness and complexity, qualities often associated with older Italian instruments. Tonal richness is the secret to exceptional carrying power. As an artist, Gusset feels a moral and social responsibility to create works that speak a universal language of beauty -- beauty inspired by nature -- that stand the test of time.

Due to technical difficulties, the meeting is cancelled.

To facilitate the smooth running of the event, participants are requested to enter the virtual meeting room(s) 10 minutes earlier, with the permission from the organizer. During the waiting period, please confirm your microphone and video camera are turned off.
