I-Pin Hsu

born in Anping District, Tainan City, It has been 36 years since he was attracted by mandolin music to the making of this instrument. During this period, he participated in the orchestra, teaching, and also collected mandolins from various countries and learned to repair. He tried mandolin production in 2003 and won the Honorable Mention Award of Taiwan Craft Competition in 2008. In 2014, he entered the Musical Instruments Division of the Institute in TNNUA, and studied the structure of mandolin soundboards. He studied violin making and collected mandolins to research and sort out a general direction for mandolin making.

Research interests: mandolin music promotion and mandolin production.
